
Uniosun VC bags Ambassadorial Award from his Alma Mater

A statement released by the Public Relations Officer of Osun State University, Ademola Adesoji, revealed that Adebooye received this award at the 12th Faculty Lecture of the Faculty of Agriculture, Obafemi Awolowo University, held on Thursday, 11th May, 2023, at the African Centre of Excellence, Oak Park Hall, OAU, Ile-Ife.

Adebooye appreciated the Faculty for decorating him with the award and fondly recalled his days as an undergraduate in the Department of Crop Production and Protection. He also called on alumni of Universities all over the country to make a habit of giving back to their alma mater, noting that such goodwill would complement the efforts of governments in running the higher education system.
The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, has been awarded the Distinguished Faculty of Agriculture Ambassador Award by his alma mater, the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in recognition of his leadership achievements as Vice-Chancellor.
Adebooye stated “I am honoured to be recognized today as a Distinguished Ambassador of the first and best Faculty in this great Institution. OAU is great because it instills in its students and Alumni the best of learning and culture in its entirety, which include giving back to the system. Alumni of other Institutions should emulate the King of Universities and contribute to the growth of their alma mater, as government cannot do it all.”

Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, Vice-Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; Professor Timothy Adebayo, Vice-Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo;Professor Adesola Ajayi, Vice-Chancellor, Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan; and Professor Ojo Kolawole Adekunle, immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, OAU, Ile-Ife.
A 400-level student of the Faculty, Miss Anjolaoluwa Blessing Adekola was also awarded Best Internship Student of the Year.
