GOV. ADELEKE DISSOLVES THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF OSUN STATE UNIVERSITY.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has dissolved the governing council of the Osun State University. The dissolution of the Mallam Yusuf Ali-led governing council was contained in a press release signed by the state Head of Service, Samuel Aina, and dated 19th May 2023.

The Yusuf Ali-led governing council was inaugurated by Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola on 8th August 2016.

In November 2022, Governor Adeleke immediately after his inauguration sacked the board of all non-statutory boards, except the governing council of Osun State University. A statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, indicated.

“As a follow-up to the pronouncement of Governor Adeleke on Sunday, November 27, 2022, all non-statutory boards, commissions, and parastatals including those of tertiary institutions (except UNIOSUN) are hereby dissolved in the state forthwith.

“Consequently, all accounting officers of such boards, parastatals, and commissions are to take charge with immediate effect.” The SSG statement read.
